Management at Accenture New Zealand

8.0
8.0 rating for Management, based on 56 reviews
How accessible are managers and do they make good mentors? You may want to address internal communication, performance feedback or praise and recognition.
My direct manager is very accessible due to us being on the same project. But this is not always the case. It can be difficult to access people placed a few levels above you (leadership are generally only accessible when you are benched or at an organised event).

They are quite accessible, mentoring is encouraged. The performance achievement system has a lot of potential that has not fully been realised to date.
Graduate, Sydney - 29 Aug 2017
The mentoring culture seems quite strong and managers are easy to talk to, although quite busy at times.

Some managers are not reachable. Some cling to hierarchy

Managers are very accessible and each person is assigned their own career counsellor who is a manager or senior manager or above to coach them through progressing in their career.

Direct Managers are usually business-oriented and have little experience in the technical domain, and therefore provide little recognition for the work that is done. Quite often also an Individual's interest are put to the side and you are not given opportunities to move your career in the direction you would like.

Yes, they are both accessible and good mentors.

Although they are busy and sometimes hard to get hold of, they make an effort to catch up with people who ask and the team regularly

In most cases they are, but in some rare occasions, some of the managers can be not engaging.

Great access to mentors, not so much to partners / MDs

I am familiar with managers however have not yet engaged with them on a mentor relationship/ for feedback.
Graduate, Sydney - 28 Aug 2017
There's a good rolling 6-month performance cycle which sparks many value feedback conversations. Higher levels are super accessible and are mindful of development of opportunities for junior employees.
Graduate, Auckland - 28 Aug 2017
Assigned senior career counselor who schedules regular catch ups
Graduate, Melbourne - 28 Aug 2017
Very accessible, managers interact with you constantly, especially when you go through the grad program. Performance feedback is unique and cutting edge. Very collaborative feedback loop in which you get feedback from multiple sources and self reflection that all rolls up into an end of year review.
Midlevel, Melbourne - 28 Aug 2017
Very, good mentor culture within the company. It is something that is really encouraged and important as you often don't have a line manager as such who is across everything you do
Graduate, Melbourne - 28 Aug 2017
Managers are mostly available. They are always willing to provide help with any problems.
