Are you a Civil / Natural Resources Engineering student in your third or final year of study looking for a paid summer internship? We need your energy to help decarbonise Aotearoa and safeguard the planet for future generations.
We have an exciting opportunity for a Civil or Natural Resources Engineering student entering their 3rd or final year of study to join our Hydro Dam Safety Engineering team in Clyde this summer! You will work with our Dam Safety Team undertaking inspections and monitoring of the dam and surrounding environment. You will gain exposure to the operation of our Hydro Dam, including reading of dam and landslide monitoring instruments, support maintenance and engineering works by contractors, data processing, review and reporting.
As part of the summer internship programme, you will spend a day in a central virtual induction, getting to know each other, learning a bit about Contact Energy and hearing from some of our people leaders. All interns will be enrolled in a learning pathway made up of eLearning modules to be completed in their own time over the course of the summer. We will also run two masterclasses throughout the summer. The first will be a session with our graduates to hear about their experiences on the graduate development programme. The second will be with our Talent Acquisition team, focussing on interview skills and CV writing. In the final week, interns will present their experience and learnings to their peers and managers.
We can teach you the skills you need to succeed. What’s important for us is diversity of thought, so it is important to just be yourself! If these behaviours and values align with yours, then we might be the company for you.
