Please describe the training programmes at your company and tell us what skills you've picked up.
We have a buddy system, which I really enjoy. Makes you form a relationship that you feel comfortable enough to ask questions without being worried if they will judge you.
Graduate, Hastings - 09 Dec 2024
It has been a mixed of formal and informal training, the formal training at the beginning was lacklustre. It was mandatory online meetings that were rather vague and only talked in overviews and generals which was not helpful. But now that I am further in, a second round of training is beginning and this is far more useful and focused on specific things. Informal training has been constant and very useful. We are given a buddy, someone a year or two above us who at the start guides us on how to complete our work and then continues to be there to assist in advice and helping us when errors come up. The managers and partners have also been extremely willing to teach and help when time allows.
Graduate, Nelson - 09 Nov 2024
On the job training I feel is what usually sticks. See things used in a practical way instead of just hypothetical. My Excel & accounting programs literacy has vastly improved since starting as well as relevant problem solving.
Graduate, Hastings - 09 Nov 2024
Training provided was good.
Graduate, Dunedin - 31 Oct 2023
Online training meetings and videos. In person training with manager, as well as with staff member who had started previous year and understood training experience well.
Graduate, Wellington - 31 Oct 2023
we had a week of graduate training when I first started then since then we have had monthly catch ups with my manager to see how things are going. Have had a few manager training sessions with the other grad also as to how to review work etc. On the job training we have had TMNZ sessions etc. Have just started more grad training weekly for the next 6 months or so to help us learn more. Have picked up various skills from all these.

Grad training programme weekly, 2nd year programme monthly. Fortnightly training for techincal topics for all staff. Findex Academy for learning a whole range of soft skills
Midlevel, Nelson - 25 Feb 2020
One of the reasons I'm still here is the training. As a grad you'll get sessions with partners (at least in Nelson office) as well as being part of the grad training program which runs for most of your first year. This recaps stuff you might have forgotten at uni, as well as building on top of this. I've mainly picked up systems knowledge but definitely think my tax understanding is far greater than it was coming out of university.

Lots of training given to us throughout the first year as a graduate
Graduate, Dunedin - 24 Feb 2020
Training is great and a lot of time and effort is put into training grads
Graduate, Alexandra - 24 Feb 2020
So far have only been to one formal 3 day graduates course
Graduate, Invercargill - 20 Feb 2020
There is a wide range of training available to both better yourself within your career and within your current role
Graduate, Invercargill - 17 Feb 2020
The training programmes I have utilised are not a lot. I have exponentially increased my skills with Excel, however, this would not be attributed to the firm other than having worked constantly during work.
Midlevel, Auckland - 17 Feb 2020
An initial 1 week training and then various training's throughout the year
Graduate, Dunedin - 14 Feb 2020
Graduates have training once every 2 weeks. Have a BAS training once a month These are very helpful towards building my knowledge and skills
Graduate, Auckland - 14 Feb 2020
Everyday training given by buddies is really good and helps with developing understanding of preparing accounts and application of accounting regulations. Additional tax training offered cover what has already been learnt at university and are not very helpful.
