Pros & Cons

  • The ability to work on different clients and specifically work in the agriculture industry when I have had no prior experience in agriculture. It's enjoyable to have the opportunity to work on multiple clients.
  • Friendly team, flexible working hours and flexibility to work from home, immense training for graduates and monthly feedback.
  • The people. I have felt so welcomed and they are always willing to offer their advice and experience.
  • Very accessible and easy to approach. They are great mentors and are very personable.
  • We have a buddy system, which I really enjoy. Makes you form a relationship that you feel comfortable enough to ask questions without being worried that they will judge you.
  • The pay is not competitive to other firms of a similar size, nor smaller or larger. There is no monetary incentive to stay with Findex.
  • Some of the employees can be difficult to work with, or unwilling to understand the time commitment needed to complete a job from a graduate versus how long it would take them.
  • It has been a mix of formal and informal training, the formal training at the beginning was lacklustre.
  • I have not been told about any bonuses available to us, however, when we are in our busy season we can choose to work extra hours not for pay, but to be accumulated as leave to use.
  • There is a significant 'clique' within the lower levels that makes it hard to work with these team members and creates a more frosty environment.

Our office is very woman-based so I think that's a good reflection, however, it is very male-dominated in senior positions.

The interview process was relatively easy. It was more focused on personality and fit within the company as opposed to accounting skills.

Both of these are extremely lacklustre. My pay is less than some jobs that require no degree such as supermarket work.

We are given a buddy, someone a year or two above us who at the start guides us on how to complete our work and then continues to be there to assist
